Stephanie Graduates from Stetson’s School of Law

On 5/12/2012, our youngest daughter Stephanie graduated from Stetson’s School of Law. She once again have made us very proud! We had great weather, a little bit on the hot side, but thank goodness it was all done in 2 hours. After taking pictures and sharing hugs and kisses, we celebrated with a lunch at Columbia restaurant at The Pier in St. Petersburg.

RedSox @ Detroit

Frances and I visited our dearest friends, Annette and Ralph Stento, in Detroit. We visited The Henry Ford and attended the second game of the 2012 season for the RedSox at Detroit. Got to say that we had a great time at The Henry Ford. Excellent museum of Americana….. They also have a tour of the Rouge. The Rouge is the factory Henry Ford built which at one time employed 100,000 people. Today it has a state of the art plant that manufactures Ford F-150 trucks. It is amazing how those trucks are being put together. Frances found the perfect color car for her:

The next day we attended the baseball game at Comerica Park for the second game of the season for the Boston RedSox.

@Comerica Park

This was a very painful game to watch. As a team, the RedSox did not show up to play and I was surrounded by Tiger fans! We were seated on the sixth row next to the Tigers dugout. Excellent seats thanks to the efforts of the Stentos to get us tickets. But, there was no reason to cheer on my team as they stunk! We lost 0-10. On the other hand, the Tigers are poised to have a great season.

Outside the miserable loss in the baseball game, we had a great time and were very happy to spend time with our friends in a new place.

March 2012 Vacation Cruise

Frances and I took a much deserved cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to Aruba and Curacao.  We boarded the M/S Westerdam on 3/4/12 after a brief visit with Edert and Irene on Saturday. We also visited Frances’ uncle Uriel and cousin Uriel. We all got together with family members for dinner and drinks and had a great time. We boarded the ship on Sunday and had a great week while on the cruise, full of relaxation and good food. Needless to say we also had our share of drinks.

Melanie’s Wedding Activities Begin

Well we are on our way to Virginia for Melanie’s wedding. All the plans are in motion. The vendors have been paid or deposits given. We are packed and ready to go. We start our 12 hour trek in the morning. We are excited to see Melanie and Michael. We are also very excited to see our friends join us in our celebration.

This is another milestone in Melanie’s life. We wish her great happiness and hope that her new life with Michael is full of peace, love, and happiness. We gladly welcome Michael to our family. We know he deeply cares for Melanie.

More to come as we get closer to the wedding day, 10/10/10 !!!!!!

Melanie is taking the Virginia Bar

Well today Melanie is taking the VA Bar exam. We are all praying and thinking about her. This is a 2 day test on all subjects taken in Law School the last 3 years. I do not envy her! That is though no matter what. We can only wish her good luck and hope for the best. We all know she will do her best and we will still love her no matter what the results…….

Melanie’s Graduation from Law School

Well, on May 16th, 2010, Melanie graduated from the William and Mary School of Law in Williamsburg, VA. Needless to say this is a BIG accomplishment for her and it could not make us any prouder. Melanie has accomplished every goal she has set for herself academically. This is what we hope to be her first step into life, career, and service to the community. Her next steps are to pass the Virginia BAR and find a job. Anyone with contacts in the legal profession, please contact her.

We drove up to VA to meet with Mely and Michael. We had a couple of days before the graduation for sight seeing and spending time together. Stephie joined us on Saturday night for the Law School Party at W&M’s Lake Matoaka. The graduation was on Sunday at 3PM and the weather could not have been better. We listened to Retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor give the commencement speech. It was a great speech! She seemed very nice and knowledgeable. She gave excellent advise to the new graduates. After graduation we all attended a reception at the Law School and then celebrated Melanie’s accomplishments at “Plaza Azteca”. This is an excellent Mexican restaurant in Williamsburg. If you are in the area do give it a try.

You can see the pictures here.

Monday’s weather was miserable, so we decided to stay overnight and didn’t drive back to Orlando until the next day. So we spent the day with Melanie and then in the evening we all spent time with Katia and Tony Busquet, ou dear friends that live in Yorktown.

We all had a great time!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there that sacrifice themselves for their children and provide love, food, shelter, and moral support.

Boston RedSox

I got an opportunity to get tickets for a RedSox/Yankees game at Fenway Park. I was able to get tickets for the April 7th game. Lackey v. Petite. This is one of those “bucket lists” items that I could not let go by, so we got airline tickets and hotel room for a mid-week trip to Boston. Frances and I went and had a great time. We arrived on April 6th and our friend Doreen picked us up at the airport. We spent some time with her before heading for dinner to Legal Seafoods. After dinner we went to the bar at the Marriott hotel at the Prudential Center, where they have a giant screen to watch that nights game as well as many HD screens over the bar (see pics below).

On the day of the game, we met with Steven and Elaine Mooreman for lunch at the North End. Enjoyed some great Italian food and the company was great. Then as members of RedSox Nations, we were able to get into Fenway at 4PM to watch batting practice from the Monster seats. What a great view! From the monster seat we moved over to the center field seating area and watched some of the players catch fly balls from there. We then grab some grub for dinner at the park and enjoyed the game, which we lost in extra innings, but I did not mind so much, since it was only the 3rd game of the season. Did I mentioned that it was 85 degrees that day! in Boston! Weird…..
